2025 Weekend Preservation Project

Will you be our next winner of the Weekend Preservation Project? This is our fourth year helping a local historic homeowner refresh the outside of their home at no cost to the homeowner! Funding of this project is all through our amazing sponsors. If your home was built before 1970, owner occupied, has a project that can be done in one weekend, and you are willing to recruit a few extra hands to help, you can benefit from this project. 2023 Weekend Preservation Project

In 2023, we not only helped a local family update their home, but got this home - once the childhood home of Harold Winograd - on the Historic Register!

This project included:

New trim around the front porch windows and doors to match the existing original trim

Cleaning and restoration of multi-panel historic windows in attic

Replace the failing sidewalk with new pavers

Install new planters on either side of the entry

Plant new landscape in planters

Clean up around front of home and mulch around tree in front

2022 Weekend Preservation Project

For our very first Weekend Preservation Project, we chose this adorable 1890’s historic bungalow on 13th St.

Our project included:

Removed wood overlay on front porch

Restored original front porch floor and painted

Restored original front porch columns, ceiling, and fascia

Painted street side elevation

Cleaned up existing yard

Installed new paver walkway from driveway to front porch

Installed new landscape beds using reclaimed wood from front porch overlay

Planted landscape plants and potted plants

Installed new address numbers, Ring doorbell, and front porch light

It was a perfect weekend project that helped brighten the front of the house and added immensely to the curb appeal!
